WP Engine Review Transcript
You can download WordPress on your web host and get a website on the Internet in a few minutes, but the problem is web hosting. There are a million different web hosts, and there is no way for you to really tell the difference between all of them. I should know, I was at all of them. I was on 1 and 1, I was on SiteGround, I was on the Blue host , I was on everything, but I just recently switched to WP Engine and oh my god, it’s day and night. This is a completely different experience. It’s like with a Camry on a Ferrari, and I will tell you about what is here at the moment.
It really makes me laugh every time everyone is like hey, I want to start an online business, or I want to do it online, I want to do it, but then they don’t want to put up money. Well, and this shows that they are not serious, because someone who runs a business and especially brick and mortar, they have so much overhead, it is expensive to run a real business. People think that because it’s on the Internet that they don’t have to put up money, they can just get 2 or $ 3 per month of web hosting, and they are going to start doing 100, 200,000 per month, and it’s just not like that everything works. I love this story by John Chow where he talks about someone asking him how much his blog expenses run every month, and you seem to be shocked at how much this is. Here. Here.
This person would like to know, he wanted to create a business like mine, how much would he look on a monthly basis? I told him that, well, it will cost about, with hosting, lead pages, mail rental list, all that kind of thing, it costs about $ 2,000 to launch my blog. $ 2,000 a month.
Can you believe this shit? John Chow spends $ 2,000 a month on his site, but if you spend $ 2,000 a month on what returns $ 10,000 a month, would you do it all day? Yes you would. If not, I’m worried about you, I’m very worried. This is the kind of my whole reason for switching to the WP engine . This is just premium; this is a Ferrari web host. This is the best experience I’ve ever had on a web host. They have so many things integrated into it, it’s not just web hosting, it’s a full service, WordPress solution.
Automatically backing up WordPress if your site crashes and I really had one of my crash sites, I just logged into WP Engine and hit go back and my site came back online literally like five minutes. They have automatic backups, they got security built-in, it’s just a premium WordPress experience, and they have some of the best hosting servers that are optimized for WordPress websites. One of the other issues that I had with some of my other web hosts was that they were not optimized for WordPress. It was these other Linux servers, and I had WordPress on them, and it just wasn’t working properly.
I had one of my buddies visit my site and as soon as I switched to WP Engine, I didn’t tell him because you don’t know that you don’t know that I switched and he looked like I was worried because my site It loads much faster and it’s like, what did you do? What have you done? Do you use caching stub? What are you doing on your site? I, as well, I switched hosts. I switched to WP Engine and it started freaking out. I mean, they have the fastest servers, they have the fastest drives. These are all SSD drives. If you are serious about your site and you are about to launch it as a real business, then the WP Engineis not a no brainer.
